Wednesday

Up at 5 and did a quick bit of work, then remembered it was my day off - so I stopped. Was very tired by 9, it was pissing down and dark - but by 11 it had cleared up a bit and I went for a walk into town, wandering about the charity shops. I had a full breakfast at Hoagies cafe, and then - on a whim, get on the first train to Bexhill and in 15 mins was doing the full round of all the charity shops there. Managed a very good haul, for a total of £10 I purchased

X 2 Scottish Woollen Mills ties
a very good vintage school tie
A beautiful 1970's Striped tie from Simpsons of Piccadilly.

A brand new white Ben Sherman cotton shirt
An Austin Reed pink shirt
A striped Pierre Balmain shirt
2 saville rows shirts in pink and blue stripe
An Alfred Dunhill plain white shirt

Lots of wealthy people go to Bexhill to die - you get a better class of corpse. I also began to wonder why I had such a prejudice against Bexhill - then I was reminded in one specific shop - a young Sikh man was shopping in there too - an elderly woman with a mobility frame kept barging into me and getting in my way, I realised that she was running away from the sikh boy. At the till he bought several fleece tops, and said to the woman at the counter "There are great, thank you - I'd actually like to donate this" - taking off his jacket ( perfectly good and new looking ) - the elderly middle class woman behind the till was clearly appauled and didn't want his jacket, she could barely disguise her distaste.

On the way home I bought a load of very cheap bedding from Morrissons.

When I got back to the house, I'd had an email to say that my design work for a rebrand of a major housing association had been accepted - so all that work finally paid off - myself and the team I have been working with were delighted and really excited. I wish I could have a drink to celebrate - but I'm still on meds. It was, I have to be honest, the best thing I've done in years. It was also the most academically difficult project I've ever tackled. Glad that part is over.

My head is very tired, either that - or Blogger has adopted predictive text.
