Sleepless night - partly because I have 60- large pieces of artwork that are being applied as highly coloured, intricately cutout vinyls - all different sizes, being applied to 60 individually sized glazed panels, in an office in West London, later today - and as I understand it - the glazing has yet to be fitted. The work must be completed today and I'm not on-site. I had to do the artwork at quatersize and the printer scaled it up - I kept waking up in the night, fretting about any mistakes.
Today will be hard work.
I'm working at my office in the morning and another office in the afternoon - it's probably going to be a late night, and I'm working away tomorrow. I intend to sleep through Saturday.
Imitation is NOT the sincerest form of flattery - the images to the left are by my X student who designs and sells T Shirts to pay his way through the last part of his degree, the stuff on the right he has found being being sold by other people.
I watched The Apprentice last night. The one about flat pack furniture. Load of bullshit. Aside from the incredible shitness of the design work, the idiocy of the contestants and the moronity of the program , the dishonesty pisses me off - I've spent 25 years working i retail design, there is no way an independent would take 100 pieces of anything, let alone a crap piece of junk furniture that has never been tested, passed any fire regs or come with any certification - it garbage.
Nearly 6am, just getting my head straight for the dog walk.....
