Friday Night

Long and busy week - plenty of work that needed doing - and I've also been struggling with wearing glasses. I can't get over how dirty everything is, now I know why old people have crumbs down their cardigans. I've actually found it really difficult to use a keyboard now that I can see it and I spent a couple of days wobbling from side to side, trying to re-learn my balance.

It's 7.30pm on a Friday night, I'll shortly be going to bed. I've done work this week that I would once have been given a couple of months to do, but the industry isn't like that anymore.

Best laugh I had all week, Joey Barton spouting Yeats on Twitter.

I can also confirm that good quality socks don't last as long as cheap ones. This annoys me.

Big thank you to my lovely sister who sent me a package of stuff for my psoriasis, much appreciated. She's a life long sufferer of eczema -  When she was a little kid we used to have to regularly attend the children's hospital at Alder Hay in Liverpool so she could have medical tar baths.

Regardless where you stand on the gay-marriage question - it's really brought out the worst in some people.

I'm i the middle of trying to decide if I buy a brand new- but unwanted, wood burner from a contact in town, £500 saving. I don't have the cash this month and I'm looking at another £1000 in costs to install it and repair the chimney... will have to decide by tomorrow.

Just for a bit of light entertainment - here is the trailer for the new Neil Jordan film, it was shot here, late last year - the weather was very gold for late summer - watched them filming on the beach - really looking forward to it.

Do hope they show Byzantium at the Electric Cinema.

It will be on at the Odeon first - the Palace cannot show anything until it has been released on DVD and still needs to license it - as an independent digital cinema - but it would be lovely to see it there - however, St Lens may soon get it's own Cinema if the old Bookers building is converted back to it's original use.

Getting the flue installed is a hidden expense - I looked into buying a stove on the cheap, but couldn't face going up on the roof to drop a flue down the chimney.
