Friday Night.

I spent the day in London, mostly with work - had a very good meeting with an old client and am on 2 nice new projects - both fashion and one that has a sheen of celebrity. They have bought a new office - a Victorian house on the corner of Great Eastern Street and Leonard Street - right at the heart of the Old Street 'Silicon Roundabout - very good location indeed - not far from my old flat.

Despite the freezing rain and hail in the morning ( and in the evening when I got back ) the weather in London was OK.

One thing I've noticed, how many 'posh' parents seems to think that their small children are the most important people in the world and can behave as badly as they wish at all times ( on trains, in the street, in shops ) - really selfish, in particular 'Liberty' - whose exasperated parents have nobody but themselves to blame - she's going to grow up to be a bitch. ( there was a child in the Old Town last week called 'Symphony' - I nearly punched the mother as a reward for her stupidity and conceit)

One very good thing, I had lunch ( and then a coffee at the end of the day ) with my lovely mate John who works in publishing - he gave me an advance copy of a book I can't tell you about because it's not published yet ( and will be serialised in the Daily Mail soon ) - about the collected archived correspondence of one of the most interesting and devisive women of the last 50 years ( no - not Maggie ) - I read much of it on the train - it's fantastic! - Even more impressive - the only other person with an advance copy is Charlie Brooker - nice!

We also had a conversation about how the publishing house he works for ( which is very well known ) has just surreptitious redrawn their logo to respect the constraints of spec and format - a good thing, and talked about how so many publishers are really shit at getting the spines of books right. Also - I'm not the only person to think that the book about Quantum Physics by Brian Cox I've been struggling with is really, really badly written - it's apparently the universal response.

Huge numbers of people in town spending huge amounts of money on expensive shite. Quite a lot of xmas decorations up already, no colour in the shops - lots of black and…. black.

I've had an email response from PC world about the poor service complaint - just scanned it - didn't have the time to read it properly, will look at it tomorrow.
