Saturday

I went out for a quick drink last home  managed to get home ( somehow ) at about 4am. I'm drinking very little these days and didn't have much to eat last night ( risotto - hardly fortifying ) so I did suffer today - but I had a good laugh and saw lots of people I knew.

One of the floors at The Printworks ( where I have my studio ) has been converted to a club, you go in through the back where the fire escapes and graffiti are - it makes me think of New York in the late 70's. It was incredibly loud ( at least 3 bands ) and very full - but it was fun. I also went to a birthday drinks beforehand, as the evening was Oktoberfest themed - there were quite a few people in Leather lederhosen - nobody batted an eye - Hastings is like that. On the way to Franks bar I saw someone I knew at the cashpoint, covered in glitter face paint, he said hello - again, nobody says anything - Hastings is like that.

It's bonfire night here today, It includes a giant bonfire, very good fireworks and a rather scary procession through the streets with burning barels, blacked up drummers and effigies - I'm giving it a miss this year, and the party afterwards - it's been horrible weather all day and I can't face hail, rain or cold.

The dogs are behaving as if they have done something very bad that I haven't discovered yet.

Had a conversation with someone earlier about 'Jim'L'Fix It' badges - they were actually made here in a workshop on Caves Road, we wondered if they might actually have gone up in value - in the same way that people collect Nazi Memorabilia.

Have bought Pizza and intend to watch a film later - I'm taking the computer equipment to work on Monday - so there will be no big screen here until I can afford a new imac. I have about an hours work to do tomorrow - it can wait.

Louis Theroux's interview with Jimmy Savile has surfaced again on YouTube - its worth a watch to see how really nasty he was. And to hear his defence should he ever be branded a paedophile. Why should he say such a thing?

I've decided to give it a miss, might give me nightmares - however - as someone pointed out earlier - this is becoming the book that Gordon Burn never wrote. Michael Sheen already trying on blonde wigs...
