Friday

I've spent the last couple of months with all the windows open and a lightweigh duvet on the bed - might have pushed this a bit too far, as I've woken up with a head cold, I can feel it brewing behind my eyes. I'm really not in the mood today. Even if it is Friday.

Watched the 100m race last night, quite stunning and very exciting. Put's able bodied me to shame.

Recently - I was forced to join Twitter as part of the research into a competitor on current job. I have two followers, both people I know who use twitter for work. Most of my following is trade publications - which is a bit dull because you get the same rumour about a new software tweak from 5 journalists at the same time in a different combination of words, and - until last night, I followed Barak Obama - but he was a bit dull and posted something every time he blinked. I can see how handy it is for work, but socially it leaves me a bit cold - and I'm confused at how anyone can possibly think that their lunch is so important they have to tell the world - although I suppose it's probably the natural extension of all celebrity lifestyles. Quite an interesting article here about cyber bullying by celebrities.

Ironic, that I start using Twitter the same day that Twitter decide to no longer support the mac platform.

Yesterday - I started using a new kind of dog food, I'm about to walk them and reap the rewards....

Update

The dog walk proved quite uneventful - as neither dog was interested in walking anywhere and have both gone back to bed.

The old woman next door employed one of the local old timers to do some gardening, he did exactly what I didn't want him to do - removed all the clematis on the lattice fence at the back of my garden ( it's on my side ) so now, the dogs can see through to her garden, and the cats.... que constant barking.

Read several very depressing articles about ATOS and their assessment of disability claimants. One of my friends was assessed at length earlier in the year, it took longer than expected because he had to stop half way through for morphine - and was late because it was on the 3rd floor and he can't do stairs, or most types of movement. The chap assessing him was about 14 and kept apologising for causing him acute stress and a certain amount of physical pain..

Seriously thinking about going back to bed - shall leave you with an anecdote I picked up yesterday that will mean nothing to anyone who does not listen to radio 4.

‎"Charlotte Green and Jeremy Hardy were swapping anecdotes in the green room during a recording of The News Quiz. He asked her what her maddest fan letter has been and she says that she's had more than one letter from retired major types from the Home Counties, asking her to slow down a bit when
she's reading the shipping forecast, so they can finish..."
