"It was the Scum wot won it"

I'm sure that you don't need me to tell you how much I hate Murdock / Rebekah Brooks and News International - so you can imagine, I have a feeling we live in very interesting times, today.

To e frank - I'm probably not as elated as you might thing - in fact I'm very uncomfortable. Brooks is still there and the NOTW - not my paper of choice but a much 'cleaner' publication than her/Coulsons tenure and one staffed with about 200 hard working people at the top of their careers is gone. Like it of not - the NOTW was a part of British culture for 168 years - and it's been discarded like a dirty tissue by the sock-puppet of doom. All to protect one woman... what the FUCK does she have on him??? Perhaps we'll find out eventually that it really was a small white car full of flash happy NOTW hacks who crashed Diana's car..? I have a vague suspicion that Murdock has retained Brooks in her impossible position to use her later on as a human shield when something really bad hits the fan.

This should never have happened, Brooks should have had the dignity and professionalism to fall on her sword long ago - and even still retained a career - the NOTW now is totally innocent of any crime associated with the past - but 200 people and a British institution have been thrown away because someone has too much power and a raft of selfish agenda that beggars belief. Nobody wins here except Murdock - and this demonstration of power isn't a show of contrition or weakness - it's a gesture of how untouchable he is, and how unimportant we are.

My only real consolation is that Brooks is finished - job or no job - she has no respect or integrity left in her own industry and nobody will ever forgive her. I've always hated that woman ever since she took over at the Sun and with her first breath made clear that page 3 would stay. For all her bleating about the poor little murdered kiddies she feels so strongly about - she should remember that Levi Belafield, the man who murdered Milly Dowler ( you remember her, don't you - Rebekah ) was a big fan of P3 and took great pleasure shouting sexist abuse at young girls out of his car window - girls just like the ones that smile broadly and push their glistening tits towards the camera - just a bit of fun, eh - Rebekah???

In other news - there are real problems in the world. My friend Roland is in intensive care at the moment after a brain aneurism on Friday Morning - he's very ill and it does not look good. He's the same age as me, has a wife and young daughter - they are both freelance and live in rented accommodation and probably don't have the kind of insurance that covers stuff like this. There is a very real chance that, IF he gets through this, he will need permanent care. Puts the grubby, self serving and dishonest cuntery of some people into perspective.
