That was the week that was.

It's been a very long week, end of year, marking and examination board.  rather stressful, tense and protracted process. My external examiner was down from London - and fortunatly he's great and I get on with him. Very supportive and fulfilling the role of 'Critical Friend' with skill. The new chair of the University Exam board is also great - really made the process work. I was on the panel for the foundation year - very, very good work there too - depressingly so - I'm going to have to up my game and be a bit more competitive.

In all - I'm exhausted. I don't actually teach now until October, but I have to write a new year, develop a new timetable - and I want to overhaul the paperwork and delivery. I'm also going to put together a new website for the department and other stuff. We are still trying to get HND Photography off the round, and it's possible that we may move to a new space on the 5th floor.

In addition, I've been working commercially at night ( can't pick and choose when that comes in ) and it's actually been really successful - my new brand name and identity for a large local store group was accepted straight away without any problems - and I'm pretty happy about that, and so is the agency I'm working for. I also did a load of work for COOP Pharmacy and some stuff in German. Despite actually earni9ng money - none of it will turn up for a few weeks and I'm still living on fresh air... in fact I don't actually seem to have spent any money this week.

Now that the summer is here, I'm going to get on with a few things, clear up the garden - work on the house.... actually have a bit of a life and hopefully earn some money. Perhaps I will even get out a bit and stop moaning about how poor I am / how hard I work / how crap my life is etc.... Or perhaps not.
