Things I did this weekend.

Worked... mostly administration and long term planning for next year.

De- flea'd the house, it's that time of year and so I spent a large amount of time cleaning every nook and cranny, washing everything that the dogs have access to and hoovering ruthlessly - followed by a liberal sprinkling of special powder. Offa Towers now smells vaguely of camphor and ammonia. I also bought Frontline for the dogs, which cost nearly 50 quid - and spent 10 mins trying to persuade them to let my apply it. I now strongly suspect that the dogs are telepathic and can communicate through walls, I have suspected this for some time.

Saved my foot from Gangerine. I managed to get a splinter last week which I thought I'd removed from the sole of my right foot. A persistent dull ache revealed, after soaking in hot water - 2 inches of wood in the central part of my foot which I had to cut out with a scalpel, much discomfort and white gunk followed.

Allowed my self to be eaten alive by mosquitoes. The woods and farm fields are infested with them, the skies black with the little humming harpies - I am covered in red whelts.

Ate too much. I seem to be constantly hungry and have put on weight, which is odd, as I usually lose weight at this time of the year.

Paid my water, phone and electricity bills. Pain.

Canceled my membership of the Labour party. They are just too fucking wet and I can't be bothered with them - I'm going back to the Greens, I've always kept in touch with my old party in Liverpool and Brighton has done really well this local election - I think Labour need about 5 more years and probably a flu epedemic to sort them out. I'm sure it's against the law to be a member of 2 political parties. Frankly... I can't afford it.

Burned all my mothers paperwork. It was very depressing, all the financial stuff in particular - really shitty letters from the bank, all from people she knew personally - rounding on her when her money was running out - one in particular really made my blood boil - it was from the manager she had known for 20 years, his old letters were full of praise for her business acumen and congratulations when she took out mortgages, one expressing profound sorrow at the death of my father, and offering whatever help he could, but then becoming increasingly cold and snotty - and then 2 years later, one that pointed out that he had been monitoring her income and had noticed that as her widows pension was now below the required amount, he was withdrawing her overdraft facility with immediate effect. I hope the fucker died of face cancer.

Watched The Falklands Play again. Really great piece of drama, Patricia Hodge was fantastic.

Went through all my books - considered selling some, but found it impossible. Ditto CD's

Bought some wine. Didn't drink it, couldn't be bothered.

Wrote an invoice that covers approx 35% of my outstanding tax bill, that cheered me up - then realised I only had 200 quid to last a month - but in actuality - that's quite a lot.

Read an article about Morgellons - which REALLY freaked me out and made me itch all day, we are being invaded THEY ARE ALREADY HERE!!!!!

Bloody hell.

What on earth are Mangerllons? I've googled to no avail.

Really worried now.

Ditto Frontlining Small Dog. Friend's dog camping with us in the New Forest over Easter got a huge tick despite being Frontlined. SD fights to the death to avoid having a few drops of the stuff on the scruff of her neck. Maybe it really stings.
