I made the mistake of going to Asda in Hollinbury a couple of days ago. In addition to the usual fat, unwashed, pasty-faced clientele, there were people who were genuinely malfomed, as if they belonged to a hitherto undiscovered subspecies of humanity.
Even uglier than the people was the realisation that I'm not a very nice person. I entered Asda as a wolly liberal and left as a eugenics-obsessed neo-Nazi. I must remember not to go back there unless I have to.
Happy Christmas, I have been enjoying your blog for a couple of months, your combination of misery and reluctant good nature is strangely cheering. keep on blogging
