Bloody Cold Today!!!!

Very heavy frost on the country park - the dogs quite liked it.... I'm working at home for a couple of days. By some superhuman effort I have finished all the 'work' I had outstanding and have already invoiced for it. The brochure I have had printed for a client is being delivered today - I'm pretty apprehensive about it - it's been 19 months in the gestation ( yeah.... 19 months ) and I'm glad to see the back of it, but the constant delays, proofing, amendments and corrections have left me with a fairly poor relationship with the printer, it's not even my fault. I hope they have not fucked it up - I can't bear any more grief with this one. It's always me that looks bad and the client will be so pissed off.

I've had 2 jobs canceled this month - well, fizzled out would be a better description - one was a new client that I was fairly apprehensive about anyway - the other was a longstanding client who has a history of starting things that get changed or canceled and forgetting to tell me. I was really banking on that money - along with the cash I have lost from not getting paid for my evening classes - it was the money I was due to pay to the inland revenue for my outstanding bill - so I'm pretty pissed off. ( As they will be ). I am now working solid at college all the way up to xmas - I have a bit of time off then, but there is never any work at that time of the year and I'm probably going to run out of cash in January.... which is nice.

I've a few household bills to pay, about 300 quid's worth - and this last big invoice will cover them ( even though they will all be very red by the time it comes in ) and I should have quite a bit left over to make sure I get into next year in one piece - but nothing for the revenue... I'm trying to think on my feet.

Someone I work with who I like and respect handed their notice in yesterday, I don't know why - it's a really strange time to resign - 5 weeks into the first term - he's the kind of person who would put the students first and only do that in the holidays. He's a really important and respected member of staff and I'm very apprehensive about it. I'm going in for a couple of hours later and I'll see what being said.

It did occur to me that the overpayment period on my mortgage ends soon - that's about £100 pcm, I was going to let it lie and keep overpaying... but it might be easier to let that go to the revenue.

I managed to get through the dog walk without having a turd in the face... but it's time to start wearing 2 pairs of socks.
