Had a nice time yesterday - Grindrod came down from London to take the sea air - it was a cold buy glorious day, blue skies and calm seas - town was quite but quirky as usual. As it was monday most decent places were closed so we ate lunch and dinner in The Dragon bar and filled in a bit of time inbetween in The Anchor. Due to my poverty stricken state I owe him a day's food and drink - but it was still lovely.
Even on a freezing October day there was plenty to see and do in Hastings - none of it revolving around shopping - which was always my issue with Brighton. We sat in bottle alley and looked at the sad, mouldering wreck of the pier...very sad... but I'm quietly optomistic.
