Battle Stations
I came home last night and saw movement through the patio door ( I hate that phrase - it's so ugly ) - it was the fucking rat, on scuttling about on the decking. I hate decking but it's over a very bad bit of ground and a drain cover - and it's been put down in such a way that it would be almost impossible to take up. I know that they are often blamed for encouraging rats - so I decided to take action.
It's now bleached to death I scrubbed, cleaned and scoured the outside area and doused it with gallons of water.
Last night - no noise
This norning - no smell.
I'll keep up the attack on all fronts, I have a large tub of caustic soda and I need to clean a few bits of furniture of their polish and old varnish - so that's my weekend taken care of - and hopefully no more vermin.
I'm in work today - apart from meetings, I'm rearranging my studio again after a change in furniture spec last night, by the time I get home I'll be a wreck. I'm also meeting a bloke who wants to set a brief for the students with a prize of £50.00. I'm so broke I may have to do it myself.

I could tell you all sorts of rat horror stories from my childhood in Chile. I hate rats, their tails is what really gets me all grossed out. Sounds like your visitor is gone though, phew!
