I could really do without this. The drunk woman who lives in squalor up the road set her sights on me.
She's only about 5 years older than me but looks like she's in her late 50's and is always pissed and loud - she has the complexion of someone who sleeps on benches, dishwater blonde hair and a voice like a cement mixer with emphysema. For some reason she has attempted to talk to me in the past by saying "are you foreign, do you speak English" before wandering off in search of more Lambrini. You can spot their house - it has a sofa in the garden and a range of broken kitchen chairs in the back where she sits with her equally scary friends and drinks.
Last week I was walking past the house on the other side of the road and I heard her shouting ( not unusual ), I realised she was trying to attract my attention but kept walking. Today she did it again - the houses are terraced on her side so her kitchen door is up a flight of steps, so she was about 10 feet above me
"Are you foreign" she growled, spilling her pint of beer
"erm, no" I said ( really quite scared)
"I see you - you walk your dogs - you like walking, do you speak English"
"erm yes. I speak English"
"I see you, I like you - whats your name"
"Erm... Richard" ( shit scared at this point )
I have the dogs with me and Alfie starts to pull
"erm, bye" I say, weakly.
She's waving furiously, splashing beer everywhere. She has a twin sister who is very similar, but dresses in flourescent pink and green 80's dance wear. She also has a son of about 25 who is very well liked locally, well mannered and polite and does not seem to share any of her 'preferences'.
I don't need this - I like living in a really quiet area where all my neighbours are either very aged or very scared of me - God forbid she invites me in for a drink - or gives me a tap at some point. I'm so stressed I have a twitchy nerve under my eye, it looks like I'm winking.... not very clever.
