I came into work early - and just as I was about to start, someone started up a generator to pump out the drains across the road - very noisy for an hour. Across the road, someone has taken over a small shop ad is decorating it - it's a lovely old shop that still has the original 1930's glazing and sign writing. Sadly they have added a very ugly plastic sign that says 'Traceys Barbers" - not Tracey's or Traceys' - but TRACEYS, it's making me furious.
It's lovely and quiet in here, getting on with things - catching up, pretending the rest of the world isn't outside. It seemed even more autumnal first thing this morning - warm again now, but tangibly closer to the end of the year.
I think the students are back - lots of people in town again. The pubs will be happy.
