The past

This is an image from 'britainfromabove.org.uk' - the house I grey up in is roughly central - facing the church ( St Mark's) - there are two decent looking bay fronted houses - mine was on the extreme right - previously ( or, if you like, at the time of this photo ) it was lived in by the headmaster of the infants school next door ( to the right) - which is now a carpet warehouse. I liked the school - single storey and very Arts and Crafts.. To the top of the image is the Chester to Hollyhead railway line, some area of scrub and cliff, and the banks of the River Dee - as it narrows from Estuary to Rivermouth. It has a tidal boar that raised 2/3 meter waves sometimes - the only other UK boar is on the River Severn. It does not look much like this now - there has been a great deal of development - and I think it's quite depressed - the road in front of the house (the 'coast' road ) gets very busy. As a kid - I remember it being deadlock for hours during the summer as families returned from trips to the beaches of Rhyll and Prestatyn. I was never happy there.
