Not as cold today - but dark, overcast and fine rain - really grim. Coldest April day for 50 years yesterday - felt like it.

Was half minded to stay at home today if the weather was clear, and do some stuff here - but looks like I'll go into the studio instead and catch up. Spending tomorrow doing stuff on the house.

Have a bit of new work next week - everyone thinks I'm really busy and is reluctant to ask me if I'm free... might have to put out a press release.

Started yesterday by spending an hour talking to someone at work about the economy - ruined both our days. Depressing story in the papers about a PHD physics graduate who threw himself off a building in London after repeated career setbacks and only being able to get work in a call centre. There have been a number of really shitty comments by the government recently -  claiming that too many people are over educated and have too high an expectation, and that manual workers are what the country need - and then explaining that manual workers are retail and call centre/customer response jobs - that's the old 'service' industry. The 'poor' don't even have the satisfaction of doing something worthwhile for a living.

On Tuesday - the printed board outside the newsagent that advertises the Brighton Argus had the legend "Bearded Woman Attacked At Crucifixion" - yesterday it was "Giant Stiletto found on Beach". I think we are living in a giant Monty Python Sketch.

Too wet to dog walk, apparently it's my fault.
