Waiting in for a courier - and waiting for a client to approve a pice of work and copy check so I can get it printed - a bit of a balance, hopefully the courier is early.
Cold and overcast.
Watched quite a good film last night with Ewan mcGregor and Eva Green - sort of strange sci-fi magical realism musing on mortality and sensation, not perfect but thoughtful enough. It did terrible business at the box office, probably the only customers were friends and family of the cast - I quite liked it. Could have been more tightly scripted.
John Humphries is getting increasingly malevolent - he's the Darth Vader of news radio - all that power has gone to his head.
Walking the dogs last night I notice that people are increasingly keen to leave their curtains open to show off their giant plasma TV's - and generally have all the lights out - possibly because the amount of light these things kick of is immense - they light up the street - I'm convinced that in 10 years we shall have a day of the Triffids type scenario where people start going blind, their retinas burned out by a decade of high definition TV.
There is a house around the corner from me, large pre war and quite posh - very big picture window to the front with a huge and frankly camp display of plastic lillies in a fluted glass vase - fanned out like a giant peacock tail filling the whole window, must take ages to dust. They have a smallish, fat, milky white bulldog that barks over the window sill when I walk past - today it became so excited it tried to leap up - knocking down the display - the look on it's face and the sound of it's terrified shrieks as it ran round the house in fear have made my day, I shall be chuckling until tea time.
