Worked until 9pm last night - and then home in the rain - have managed to get soaked to the skin, 4 times in 3 days. Work going well - but I'm at home today catching up on a project that should have been finished on Monday - but print deadlines keep getting in the way. More rain due later.
Listening to the talking heads on the radio debating the farcical mess that the Railway Franchises scheme has descended into. Total fucking balls up.
Spoke to my brother yesterday, an aunt died yesterday - Coming from a large family who are all in their 70's and 80's suggests that this will happen more often now.
Have been up since 5am but still trying to et my head around what I need to do today - lacking a bit of focus and in desperate need of a break.
I'm typing this in text editor - as my broadband speed has tumbled down to almost nothing, worse than the 1980's - been like this for a couple of days. I think I need a new box thingy, have had this one for 5 years and it's a piece of shit, really.
Tesco has just announced it's first losses in 20 years. They are one of my clients major suppliers - frankly, their offer is dated, cold and out of step with shopping trends. We have a Morrissons, a Sainsbury's and an M&S food hall in central hastings along with a small Tesco - the Tesco is pretty shit in comparison, and it's only about a year old. I hate shopping there, and seldom do.
Retail in this country is pretty poor all over, I looked at some of the shop windows in town yesterday and couldn't get over how bad they were - ugly product, ugly display, lay merchandising. One thing that REALLY winds me up - large format photography of product - and the product sat next to it. The image is styled, photoshopped and colour corrupted - and usually makes the product look cheap and tatty - instantly putting you off. They are supposed to sell lifestyle - not dissapointment.
Might have more coffee
