Shit day. Really Shit. Aside from the weather.

Yesterday I ordered a desktop hard drive from PC world - the plan being to spend the day archiving and backing up. They had one for 2TB at a special online price, £20 off if you order and collect from store. Which I did, I got my notification and checked that the amount available had dropped by one - and an email to say it would be available from 10am today.

After cycling to Bexhill in the wind and pissing down rain - I entered the very large, poorly staffed PC World and was directed to a booth by a pretty, polite but bored girl. Behind the glazing a bored man of about 30, looked up - and then, realising I was there to see him, ignored me for 5 mins while he pissed about on his Toshiba laptop - my being a customer needing to be served really ruined his day.

I told him I was here to collect a hard drive I'd 'bought' online - he looked at the reference number and said, quite sarcastically - 'that's wrong - if you'd already paid for it - the number would be different' - I corrected myself by saying 'I ordered it yesterday - it said to pay on collection' - the fact that I had written the price and TO PAY in big letters next to the number obviously went over the top of his head. He wandered off and came back 4 or 5 mins later with a piece of paper "no - we don't have any' - I protested that I had a receipt and confirmed collection 'no - that's wrong - someone called you first thing' - checking my phone - they had called about 8 mins previously - while I waas cycling in. "so I've cycled half an hour to pick up a confirmed purchase that isn't here?" - 'yeah, that's right'. No apology, no attempt to find me something else  no courtesy of customer service. No wonder PC world are on the skids. THEY ARE SHIT! I'll never shop there again. When I bought my MacBook there the fuckwit said to me 'why don't you buy a laptop AND a macbook - get the best of both' - and then said 'hey! laptops are great - you can carry them around with you and everything'

Retail in this country is fucked, if it isn't the store, it's the stock, or the staff. Ruined my entire fucking day - probably have pneumonia now.
