I've actually had a great day. Up early - I wandered into town ( wearing the wrong jumper - it was sweltering ) and had a poke about the charity shops, I bought the entire 1965 Punch collection - Library bound in red leather - about 8 inches thick, for a fiver - from a very nice man with a terrible speech impediment, in Oxfam, along with a new copy of 'Notes On A Scandal' for 50p and a penguin book of political cartoons from the 1960's for 20p. The food and wine festival is on - so I had a look at that ( very good ) and bought the 1965 American Illustrators Annul ( Portsmouth School Of Art copy - only taken out of the Library once in 1966 ) for £2 and a small 1940's enamel box for 50p.
Back home I did some cleaning and bought a couple of large ornamental grasses from B&Q (reduced) and 9 tubes of expensive toothpaste ( buy one, get 2 free - so £2.75 x 3 = £8.25, rather than £24.75 )
Bit more organisation in the garden in anticipation of terracing, and a sit down with some books and a stream of quality movies on YouTube - like this one. have been invited out - but can't be bothered. One of my mates is moving - so I've bought two large kitchen units from him for £50, pine numbers with chopping board tops - brand new.
I've just watched Barbra Windsor be eviscerated by Jack The Ripper, great fun.
A couple of my neighbours are avid belly dancers, they have new outfits, emerald green sequins, I honestly don't know what goes through their minds - bold as brass in the COOP getting the shopping in harem pants.
They are still barking on about the duchess and her tits, so fucking boring its beyond belief - every wannabe pundit in the world is fighting to get onto the news to have an opinion...
