Early Monday Morning

Back up to Hospital today for more dental work, getting a train at about 8.30 - the rain has stopped for a bit but is probably coming back later.

Rained all day yesterday - a good thing. I planted out a couple of cheap cordalines on Saturday and the ground was parched - totally dray down to at least a foot.

I'd been given a very large cougette last week, so I made a giant ratatouille - perfect sunday dinner.

Over the years I've learned to avoid the message boards on The Daily Mail - yesterday, I was stunned to see that the boards on the Independent were much, much worse. I'm starting to think that free speech is something that should be rationed until you have passed a test of some kind. People seem to think that hiding behind a fake name exonerates you from any kind of responsibility for what you say. I was particularly surprised by the ranting homophobia - if you changed 'gay' for 'black'  it would have been a different story entierly.

Reading yesterday that people can use their pensions to help their kids buy houses. What a load of dangerous bollocks, so - how many people will risk losing their pensions and how many more will continue to see their parents as a obliged to support them through life.

The Mitchell /Pleb drama continues - what a cock, if anyone called me a pleb they would be sorry. He's clearly lying.

John Terry quitting international football because the FA has made his position 'intenable', good.

I bought a small book press on Saturday - like this one, have wanted one since I was about 20, I managed to pay just 60 quid in the end, I know the trader and he give me a really good discount - cleaned it up on Saturday afternoon, very happy with it - can't wait to get started.

I just remembered something really important I forgot to do last night. Appart from buying milk.
