Thursday

Up early - very Autumn day. Cool, wet, overcast, dark - that about sums it ll up.

Really didn't enjoy the Paralympic opening ceremony. Constant add breaks, poor sound and picture quality ( watched online ) and John Snow and Kritan G-M babbling away like idiots, really annoying. Yes, Jon - we know you read the news and can tell us all about war torn misery. They seemed badly briefed and there was a lack of real research, lots of awkward silences and stupid things like "is that pink, or is it cerise - I can never tell... " - I fell asleep before the end. There was some satisfaction today from a friend who has autism who got into trouble with facebook for posting the song 'Spasticus Autisticus' - which was used - but I missed. Good version of the National Anthem ( Britten - I think ) and an increasingly bored, tetchy and frustrated looking Queen who really must be starting to wish it was all over and she could have a well deserved retirement.

I didn't feel very well yesterday - really tired and run down - I'm pretty desperate for a few days off but not looking possible - I had a lie down for an hour as rain battered the house.

I need to cut my hair, have a shave, clean the house, put the bins out, do the washing, file my accounts, move into the new studio, complete the work I have on now and start a new project - and I'm hanging on for an invoice to be paid - this has been an expensive month - lots of bills - 2 sets of mortgage payments and paying up front for the studio. I'm getting very short.

Nothing much in the news. The description of Mit Romneys potentially better half 'a corporate wife' seems pretty accurate - she sent a chill down y spine. Some of the attendees at the republican junket this week were sinister and deluded by turns. Janine Turner - who was such a delight in Norther Exposure - has reinvented herself as a brittle blond uber republican - her speech was daft ( Hey Colorado! ) and pointless - at least she knew her geography.

There is a curious article here about Apple in the Guardian - not well written or put together, it's either the spleen of someone who uses a PC - or a lay journalist trying to get onto the next big thing - and a venue for Mac bashers to leave pithy comments. One comment gets it write and asks the author if he's be happy if someone passed off his writing with a few small tweaks and called it natural evolution rather than plagarism.

I like the French - I really do, unlike most Brits - I think the French are brilliant, except when they do stuff like this. Although - the best reaction is to just shrug.

... and f you need an excuse to get angry today - start here - sexism and trash journalisim isn't dead
