Not been around much - had a fantastically busy week with work. Working inhouse, and I have to say - I'ver loved it. Really nice place, nice people, easy to get on with, interesting work - and just left to get on with it. I'm in such a good frame of mind - I've done some really lovely stuff. It's nice to work somewhere without somebody crying in the toilet or shouting down the phone. can't really talk about what I'm doing because it's live work etc - but I'm really happy with it all.
On Thursday I was in London, managed to get to see the Bauhaus at the Barbican - which was sublime, the biggest collection in 40 years - all the stuff I saw as a student in text books - wonderful collections of ephemera and artifacts - very good indeed. In London, I one of my tutors from college - she appears not to have aged, someone I was at college with, and two people I used to work with. I also saw Simon Russel Beale - twice - he seems to be flitting from cafe to cafe, being recognised "yes, it really is me". Needs to loose a few pounds, if you ask me.
I had lunch in the Pizza Express with the best view in the world.
On the way home - as I sat on the fast train at St Pancras station - they announced it was cancelled and that I needed to go to Charring Cross to get a slow train. I was livid - and then I managed to get lost in Kings Cross underground. Took 4 hours to get home.
Most of my neighbours have started putting up flags. I'm keeping a low profile.
I have a big piece of work to complete over the long weekend and I'm back in the studio next week - I want to do some gardening and cleaning, and catch Prometheus at some point.
Lots of really grim news from the college I used to work at, so pleased I'm not there now. I saw someone the other day who said I looked really well and much 'lighter' than usual. I feel it.
Going to catch up on the BBC punk season too over the weekend.
This is the best pot of coffee I've ever made.
