Thursday

Worked all day in the unseasonal and quite unwelcome heat - and then had to go down to The Stade to a meeting of the Hastings Creatives group, and give a speech about the Cultural Reference plan and creative futures in Hastings, as I no longer wear glasses I couldn't read my notes and it was just a rambling winge - but people did clap - possibly out of pity. Aster, had to show my face briefly at the 'hello' drinks party for the new students and met another of my students from last year who now works in New York and is just back briefly to sort his visa.

Interestingly - he tells me that there is a real hunger of good designers out there who are both competent and visually skilled - with programing and online design being very good currency - -real boom time. He talked a bit about the kind of teaching that they get over there and it's essentially just training, something I've noticed before. I have 2 students in NY now and one at Interbrand - not bad for a pissy little college on the South Coast.

Thanks to the good weather - all the newspapers are rolling out the same stock shot of Brighton Beach. It will be hotter today.... God help us all.

I'm already bored to death with the Micheal Jackson thing - must be silly season.  Lets face it - nobody held him down and forced junk into his system. The rest of the news is pretty dull.

Still waiting for my head cold to attack ( I'm thinking Saturday ) and if I don't get paid tomorrow I'm eating cardboard and shoe leather all weekend.
