Went to a meeting over at The Ship in Winchelsea, bought a packet of rabbit pate from the Deli. Lovely. I'm celebrating - one of my clients paid an invoice - I have now paid off my power bill, my council tax for the year and £600 towards my tax bill - I might pay some more if I get through this month cheaply.
It's Hastings Week and the annual pram race today - lots of costumes, contraptions and pissed people. It's also probably the hottest day since records began. In the COOP earlier were about a dozen young girls dressed as 'sexy' policewomen - I came straight home.
Postman came and delivered some DVD's - the digitally remastered 'Tale of Two Cities" - a film I bloody love - and Trio, Quartet and Encore - three tableux style collections from Somerset Maughmn - more favourites. There is another film I've been trying to identify for years, similar in tone and from the 1950's - a man at an art gallery is seduced into one of the paintings by a ghost and cannot escape - creepy painting of an old house on a moor - and ends up as a figure in a window - really great film - with I knew what it was called, have not seen it since I was about 16.
Plenty to do this week - if I can get it all done I'll be able to do some work on the house next week, or at least have a couple of days off - I've also invoiced some work that will pay next month - and it means I will be able to get the tax bill to under £1000, not bad - considering it was £7500 at xmas.
