Thursday

I'm in London today - I'm going on the superfast train, it's a tenner more expensive but it saves me an hour and breaks the journey into two half hour chunks - and a tenner more is cheap for the time I save and comfort gained. I don't need to be there until midday so I don't need to eave until 10am.

I set the alarm for 5 - but was woken by Alfie Greyhund just before with his, 'OY - let me into the garden, I want to eat grass'  bark.

I worked really hard yesterday - from 5am to roughly 11pm - with a couple of breaks and dog walks - difficult piece of work that I picked up the day before - bit of an 'ambulance chaser' - but the client was happy ( they were waiting at 11pm for the results ) and it was well paid. I'll have more about the money later in the month - but on paper.... I'm solvent, once everyone pays their invoices - I'll have paid my tax, all my bills, and my insurance - so apart from the mortgage... I'll have no debt at all.

I also had the drama of dealing with a client who sent a draft to print rather than the final artwork - stopping something getting made and trying to convince a supplier NOT to talk to anyone else but me is a laugh... managed to get it sorted. I have loads more work to finish in the next week and I've already started getting phone calls about college.

Had a quick scan through the papers first thing, nothing very interesting - except Gerard Depardieu pissing on the carpet on a passenger flight - which I thought quite amusing - they should have given him a round of applause - I can't believe that the internet isn't already full of images of him taken on a dozen iPhones. He says that he tried to piss into a wine bottle as 'discretely as possible'  which is nice of him.

I'm intrigued by the move from 'Abercrombie and Fitch' to beg the cast of 'Jersey Shore' ( which I've never seen... but don't need to ) NOT to wear their clothes, even offering them large cash amounts - frankly, I think it's a bit cynical and a bit clever - they win either way, they already generated global publicity re-positioning the brand 'above' the Jersey Shore level - and the cast are more than likely going to refuse in indignation - and keep wearing 'A&C' - thereby reinforcing themselves as 'below' the demographic - I'd take the money and buy better clothes. Don't feel sorry for 'A&C' - they are a smug, self important brand who peddle absurd cliche's abut class, body image and youth - and if you remember, they are the brand who moved a shop assistant to the stock room and then forced her from a west end store because she had a prosthetic hand and it didn't go with the 'look'.

Prince Charles has been wheeled into hackney to save the day - listening to him on the radio - I thought it was a sketch from the Edinburgh fringe festival.

Ha, we accidentally booked a train for a tenner from Twickenham to here - did not check how long it took though (three hours).
