Overslept and woke up feeling very rough. Fortunaly, the dogs were not that interested in a long walk and just wanted a wander around Clive Vale to bother the cats.
The newspapers and talk shows will be full of analysis of yesterdays events. It was more interesting on the radio than listening live - you could really follow the nuance and emotion in the voice. Despite the excitement of Kung Fu Wendi and her power punch -a lot less happened than I was expecting. Very little was said and less actually revealed. I personally think they came out of it much better than they should have done. Murdoch senior was so frail, doddery and feeble that nobody wanted to press him - and the younger, so bland, repetetive and rambling that everything was a big fudge. Brooks said nothing of any real value, and everybody covered their own arses. I though that the interrogation of the police was quite harsh and did seem to have some adgenda - it seems that, when confronted with bags and bags of dreary paperwork about pointless X rated celebs at a time when budgets are being slashed and they were struggling with a terrorist threat - they just thought "fuck it, we have much more important things to do" - it was only when the Dowler affair reared it's ugly head that they took notice. I think it would be a shame if all the bile is directed towards the police rather than News Corp because they are an easier target.
Not much else in the news, it's a dull day. Must have rained a lot last night judging by all the debris in the streets - I missed it. The bloke with the two greyhounds is now walking them even earlier - 4.45am today.. probably why I ended up oversleeping.

Gaagh, that whole 'blame the police rather than the people doing the crime' really is a good example of 'modern life is rubbish'. Simmi and I had to deal with this in teaching, 'it's your fault because you didn't catch us doing it,' and we'd get that from the parents too. In its turn it allows people the mindset that you don't have to follow the law just because it's the law in a democratic country, it's there, and if you don't get caught you can do what you like because it's not your fault, it's someone else's fault because they didn't catch you.
yep - the University do everything possible to get students through with even a bare pass - I've taught a degree student who would be classed as illiterate by most people - the attitude is 'just get them through' - yet when they do fail - it's your fault and nothing to do with the fact that they did no work. Now that they are fee paying - they expect more and are very vocal in their complaints when you don't serve everything up on a plate for them.
