Thursday

Up very early - have 3 meetings this morning and then I'm meeting someone I went to school with who is thinking of moving down here  he's a photographer and I used him commercially a few times before I realised who he was - it never occurred to me that anyone else from my school ever actually left and got a life. Quite funny. He may possibly have had a fling with my sister before she met the man she married ( which was aged about 16 ) - but I've never got to the bottom of that - and I don't intend asking.

I'm meeting a couple of members of my staff to book them into timetabling for the next 12 months - which is almost impossible when they are self employed - how can I get someone to confirm that they will work for me for 2 days next May, when they may be offered work on another job on 5 times the money. It also means that I have to work out exactly what every student will be doing every single day for the next 12 months - so I can make the best use of my tiny teaching budget - I actually quite like the planning, I've always been a good problem solver and I've come up with some very creative ways to make the money go much further and the schedule much more interesting for the students.

Worked really hard yesterday - the logo I did for the local authority 2012 offer has been sent to the Olympic committiee for approval, fingers crossed and I have a few small jobs to finish by Friday - then a big job to get on with over the weekend for next week.

I get paid tomorrow ( at least... I better be... ) it's only my teaching salary but it covers my mortgage and a couple of very small bills - then I have a few large invoices to wait for - so I can clear everything else - I'm also intending to buy beer and Pizza and watch a crap film.

Hot, muggy and overcast... not my favourite weather - the dogs will want their walk soon ( it's about 6.30am ) - they had a very long walk yesterday morning and Alfie Greyhund has a habit of deciding not to bother the next day - can be quite frustrating... no long walk means he gets bored in the afternoon and creates mischief for himself.

I watched this last night - it's superb, I recognise many of the streets - it was made only 6 years before I was born... but looks like another world away.
