Staggeringly hot already - lying in a field at 6.30am while the dogs run around - baking under a hot sun and watching the butterflies is, lovely.
As was yesterday. Did some work, did some other dull stuff, went into college for a couple of small jobs, refused to participae in the hog roast - it looked wful - and quite barbaric... and the smell of burnt flesh was pretty vile.
My lovely administrator brought a load of books home for me by car and then I went out for a drink with Rose, Jo and Dean - after tha, home, wine - pasta and Forbidden Planet on DVD, Nice.
At an early point yesterday as I was cycling through town a complete stranger shouted 'OI! - you beardy cunt' at me - so I may get the clippers out later.
Some nice stuff in the post - including a mint edition of Brighton Rock with the Paul Hogarth cover illustration and a smashing copy of 'Hunting of the Snark' illustrated by Tove Jansson - and a Mr Ben badge.
I also got to meet Dorothy - the lovely greyhound who owns Rose - and she seemed to like m - must intoduce her to Alfie - they would look like siblings.
I've always had a thing about Mr Ben and I think it deserves deconstruction and study - but not today.
I was surprised to also get quite a lot of birthday greetings digitally - 37 on facebook, all from people I know and actually like - so the world is not such a bad place.
I'm staying home today - one of the exciting things I have planned is cutting up a piece of lino to line a cupboard, and possibly - if I can bear the excitement... using a small electrical device to get rid of the bobbles on my woolly jumpers.
