Progress

I mostly cleared the loft, massive increase in spacer and loads less crap up there - still have loads to get through - but real progress made - lots of rubbish to go out now and a few bags for the charity shop. This is a good way to spend Saturday.

I had intended to start earlier - but Alfie had refused to go for a walk early, and then demanded to go out at 9am - I was livid, just as I was about to start upstairs. I walked them into town - he was as belligerent and awkward as ever, and attempted to get him to walk to heel - which he hates and knows how to push all the wrong buttons. Bumped into a couple of people I know, one whom I taught one in an evening class and really liked, I gave her a reference to get onto the final year of her degree, which she is just completing now, and I've always liked her. She said something very complimentary to me about my teaching, which I wasn't expecting and disarmed me a bit. The dogs, being as contrary as possible - were really nice to her - fairly unusual - and tried hard to make me look like a bad dad. Fuckers.

The EAT@The Stade is open and looks great - they are having a proper opening party there soon - I'm likely to be there.

It was staggeringly hot again today - the loft was like an oven and the dogs are really unhappy about the heat - but it didn't stop them lying out in it. The COOP has been caught off guard and failed to stock up on barbie supplies... there was much anger and frustration in the empty aisles from the good people of Ore Village.

I had a lovely dinner as a reward for all my hard work today, free range burgers, organic bacon and smoked cheese on good bread with nice beer. Will watch a film later and relax a bit. Busy day tomorrow and busy week to follow, technically the last week of teaching - but 4 weeks hard slog until the end of year - and then it all starts again.

By the way - I didn't win the euromillions... I can't understand why... I cosmically ordered it yesterday???
