Friday

Long and exhausting week. I was in an Examination Board workshop with the University today - very interesting but hard work - so... what does happen if a student fails a 20 point level 1 module and is referred but then intermits but has low attendance and then submits mitigating circumstances but takes a year extra to finish... etc... The University really does offer every student the opportunity to pass - if at all humanly possible.

Chaos today - apparently a seagull dropped a clam shell from a very great height onto the college glazed roof - shattering one of the panes over the atrium - 5 floors above an open space. A complete farce - and a very expensive one too. Some twatty student blocked the sinks in the photography studio darkroom and turned on the taps, flooding the  2 floors below.

After work last night I went to a birthday drink at The Clown - one of us had made clown masks for everyone - and there was a pretty vile cake ( I don't normally eat anything sweet -  so it was horrible ). It was actually OK in there - they played Anarchy in the UK 5 times - and the staff were very nice, although I left before it got messy. Someone has written something obscene about my line manager on the toilet wall.

I have to spend the weekend working, I need to put together the timetable for next year and do some other urgent stuff too, book a load of staff and prepare for a lecture and presentation I'm giving next week to some industry people - have yet to get my head around that one.

The dogs have been increasingly annoying this week - and destructive too, ripping up furniture and the garden, I think it's got something to do with the food I'm giving them.

I'm pretty whacked tonight, couple of things I need to do and then an early night.

When's the end of year show? My son, who is now five, still talks about last year's show, which is amazing as I took him under sufferance and expected him to be bored and ruin the day.

the Private View is July 1st - and then we are open for about 4 days - I'll post the details when they are confirmed, we are taking over the whole of the 4th floor - it will be really good this year, very different environment - but plenty to see.
