 Not exactly couture.

Is it Easter at the end of this week? Not sure - will have to check, Easter eggs have been on sale for weeks in the COOP - I've lost track.

Another staggeringly lovely day - a week at home... and I have masses of work to do - much of it actually paid. I spent yesterday ( my day off ) sewing several hundred pearl buttons onto an old jumper in anticipation of the Anti-Royal Wedding Party at the Masonic hall. Sewing is horrible - quite difficult, dangerous ( I kept cutting and pricking myself - much blood ) and really boring. The results are OK - but not perfect, I now have huge respect for all the little indian kids that hand bead clothes for cheap shops and go blind when they reach puberty.

On a similar them - read in the papers about Victoria Beckham and her £18,000 handbag range - all the crocodile skins are 'ethically sourced'... not sure which is more challenging to my perception of the world - the 'ethical' skinning of crocodiles to make handbags... or the fact that anyone has such a distorted view of the world that they think it's appropriate to spend that much on a bag. The woman is a parody of herself.

I can't get my head around AV/PV - and I know for a fact that not a single person I know can either - it;'s counter intuative and very 'wrong' for the UK mindset - it may be a more fair and balanced system - but try explaining it to the people in the queue at the post office...  it's like saying that the winner of the grand National is not the first past the post - but the horse with the most bets placed against it, after some complex mathematical jiggery poker - subtracting some bets and sharing out the ones placed on the horses that fell.
