Easter Sunday

I have a feeling that today has some religious significance - something to do with chocolate and wine or something. Catholic School seems a very long time ago. Trying to sleep last night was fairly difficult - despite being right at the top of the hill I could hear the revelry from the Old Town carried up by the wind, including drumming, sirens and the happy burble of pissed twenty somethings.

The paper are, as feared full of 'the wedding' - every fucking tedious detail, even the heavy players are trying to weigh on with some perspective. I'm already bored to death with the whole thing. Apparently the TV audience is anticipated at 2bn. No real interest up here in Ore - I think most people see it as a day to go to the pub or drink bottled beer in the garden. When they had the street party for Charles and Di ( I was just a nipper ) it was very much about kids - but kids now are more interested in marrying football players, buying ipads and dancing like Rhiana, I this one is more for the over 50's who remember an age when all this might have been more relevant.

The cracks are showing between Clegg and Cameron - with a rather pouffed up and increasingly smug Cameron starting to toy with Clegg and treat him with increasing contempt. Frankly, I think Clegg should just pull the plug on the whole thing - we are not going to get AV so there is no point hanging around waiting for that to happen - the longer he waits the more damage will be done to his party. It's about time he started throwing his weight about a bit. Cameron is such a smug little cunt, he needs a bloody nose.

I've been trying to figure out how to explain to my 1st year students that their final degree year will cost them £9k and get them to start long term planning now. I don't think they have even begun to think about it - and as usual, these things tend to be, somehow, my fault.

I have no interest in the wedding at all but...now two of my friends are going I will have to watch it just to see them on telly. Not sure why, but will just have to.
