Up with the Lark

.. but only if the Lark gets up at 3.30am. Fucking IBS.

I'm teaching today and the last thing I need is to start flagging at about 2pm - I could really have done with more sleep. Getting up at the wrong time causes confusion and distress to the dogs - who demand walks / food / attention at odd times of the day and get really grumpy with me for ruining their beauty sleep. I have a couple of awkward meetings today and could really do with being 'on form' and not bleary eyed and bad tempered.

Woke up to find that Egypt has not descended into chaos. If that had happened here - with tens of thousands of people wandering around the west end for days, chanting and demanding the fall of the government - it would be bedlam.... I think the people of Egypt have behaved spectacularly well.
