Up early-ish, in time for a flood warning for most of the UK... which is nice, but we should be OK here.
Papers quite dull. Apparently we shall lose 10000 police officers due to the cuts - it's only a few years ago that they were desperate for more new officers. Not really sure how we are going to cope without coppers. It will mean a shift in the TV schedules - 'Midsomer Neighbourhood Watch'... 'He Kills PCO's'... etc.
There was a time when the papers gave out free DVD's - now ( In the Express ) it's a free loaf of Warburtons Bread. Yes... a loaf of bread - like some fucking Victorian charitable organisation feeding the poor. Obviously the demographic of Daily Express readers has descended to the point where it's deemed appropriate to hand out life sustaining crusts.
The loss of Amanda Holden's baby is possible the most important thing that has ever happened in the history of the world, according to the TV, papers and internet. Yes, it's very sad - but the way it has become public property is rather unsettling.
Apparently Alex Reid ( for those of you outside the UK - he's nobody ) has 'CROSS DRESS SEX PICS OF JORDAN' - so... she dresses up as a real woman sometimes?
The libraries row rumbles on. Still can't get my head around that one - bloke being interviewed on the TV yesterday was all for it - horrible little grey man with grey hair and a grey suit. Telling us that we can all get books on our Ipads and Iphones now anyway, so why have free libraries any more.... kinda missing the point there. Stupid fucker.
The rumblings about Cameron and his multicultural comments continue. Race is such a tricky subject that many intelligent people refuse to speak out because they are frightened of how it might come across. I just watched an interview on BBC News24 with an intelligent, articulate and very sober journalist who was evidently British with some Asian heritage - he talked about the difference between multicultutralism and cosmopolitainism - reverse colonialism ( well, we spent 300 years raping the world and now we are paying the price ) and use the phrase monocututal seperatism rather than 'black ghetto' - a phrase I heard in the media earlier this week. I had no trouble following him... but the woman interviewing him said 'lets try to avoid the phrases' - which really pissed me off.
Cameron's really poorly constructed comments came on the same day as an English Defence league march that cost £800,000 to police ( well, at least we still have a few ). most of the marchers have difficulty managing English as a language - let alone a culture... I bet they won't miss the libraries.
Have a work meeting later today - yeah, on a Sunday....
