Yesterday..

.. was bloody awful. I had to print a load of work ff, I've been tinkering with it for weeks - the presentation is Friday ( today )min London - and it's one of those 'do something totally new without changing anything at all ' type projects - 60 boards in total. Because I have been really busy with other stuff I left it too late to get printed commercially - but that's OK, I have a £600 Epson proofing printer.

I hate this printer. The paper costs about a quid a sheet, the in cartridges cost a fortune and it's very difficult to get it to do what you want, it usually takes about 20 sheets and half the content of the cartridges to get the print and colour quality right.

Fist - on Wednesday night - one of the cartridges failed ( it takes 7 different cartridges - they cost about 20 quid each ) - I managed to track one down in St Leonards, so yesterday I had to walk there ( the bike has a split tyre ) and buy it - you can't buy A3 paper in Hastings or St Leonards without 2 days warning - so I had to rely on my own stock - which wasn't what I wanted, when I got home and replaced the cartridge - there was a blockage with another one - I had a spare and replaced it ( this is already 40 quids worth of ink used ) and then to clear and clean the nozelles - I used about another 20 quids worth of ink - meaning 2 other cartridges are too low to use. When I did finally get to print out the photographs had a strange blue caste - which is odd because they are monochrome, and totally unusable.

I need to be on a train at 12.30 - I have a presentation at 2.30, I will never be able to get this stuff printed in time so I'm going to have to ask if I can present in one of the offices on screen.

By the time I got to bed it was 1am and I was up at 5am - yesterday was a red blur of rage, frustration and near hysteria. It would have been cheaper and easier to send it all out to be printed commercially - I hope everyone who works at Epson and is responsible for producing these over priced, badly designed, money guzzling pieces of shite gets arse cancer.
