Saturday seemed to just fly by. I manged to get all the bulbs into tubs, I don't really like flowers and I probably packed in far too many. I'm not really that fussed - I can live with whatever pops up.
The house is clean and I've done loads of washing - the sun came out briefly and it's not rained today - just as well as I have loads of washing to dry. If someone had told me when I was still at school that I'd still be struggling to dry my socks at the age of 44... I'd have probably ended it all. It was perfectly reasonable at that age to assume I'd have domestic staff by now. I don't regret getting shot of the tumble dryer - it ate electricity and took up too much space - but having racks of damp clothes around the house for days at a time is just pitiful.
The last few weeks have been an Xmas 'hangover' - I really feel like I'm back where I was in October - cold, broke, a bit pissed off and fighting a loosing battle on all fronts. My crafty bank have pulled a fast one and increased my bank charges. Of course - they are a business and need to make money - so if I'm overdrawn, even by arrangement - they are entitled to charge me for what is essentially borrowing.... but I never go over drawn by choice - so charging me for it just emphasises the misery and resentment.
I'm trying to re-charge batteries - I have two chargers going in the room with me - they make a really annoying racket and the results are always crap. I've not bought batteries in years - they are expensive pollutants - but I wish someone would invent decent battery and re-charger technology. The small digital compact camera appears to be beyond hope. I'm going to give it away on Freecycle - someone might be able to make use of it. It was pretty expensive at the time and I can't afford to replace it.
I have quite a bit of work to do tonight and a few errands to run tomorrow, but I'm fairly on top of stuff - I even managed to get all the glass out to the recycling bay for the first time in months. I'm trying to debate buying a lottery ticket - it's a waste of a quid - but we can all dream.....

You never know.... it could be you....
I found an old lottery ticket down the back of my desk during my massive clearout last week.
I never usually buy them except on high days and holidays so I've no idea why I would have one from October last year.
Checked online just in case I'd inadvertently been a millionaire for three months without knowing about it. Scrolled down the list of unclaimed prizes and found just one for the relevant date. Tremblingly checked to no avail. However, some lucky bugger in South Lanarkshire has won one £1 million and failed to claim for the same date.
Astounded to see that there have been SEVEN unclaimed million pound wins since last August.
WTF?!
Not to mention a whopping £2,956,532 unclaimed jackpot win from November. Someone in Brighton and Hove really needs a slap.
