Went into the Oxfam - it was much later than usual, nearly 3pm. It was packed to the doors with old people who seemed more interested in each other than the books. Perhaps it's a kind of crusty cruising ground.
The old bloke working today was quite camp - a young volunteer was there, he was quite nice looking - the old bloke was so enamoured that he was practically salivating all over him - he was so nervy he kept stuuttering. He tried to engage the youngster by explaining that the new CD player could be programmed to play tracks in the order he preferred - which he demonstrated with a free Vivaldi CD from a Sunday Paper. The young bloke looked terrified and disgusted at the same time. This only seemed to get the old bugger more excited.
Talking Old Buggers - the Stables theatre are doing 'What the Butler Saw', looks grim.
