Happy Monday

Apparently, the happiest day of the year. A combination of getting paid and - in many cases - spending it all on booking a summer holiday, makes this a 'good' day. Not for me. I'm probably getting paid, but I'm working this morning - and then going to a retirement party. When people you consider your peers start to pull the slippers on - it's all downhill from here. I'm not sure how old Paul is - I thought he was only 10 years older than me...mind you, he's loaded so it's probably off on the yacht for a round the world jolly and then skiing.

Not sure how today will pan out. The police are going back into the streets of Egypt. By the time I get back it could be chaos. I'm working at home tomorrow and then teaching for 3 straight days. I'll be exhausted by the weekend.

I bought a small Juniper bush yesterday, and another little fir - quite a nice one. The garden center at the B&Q seems to have been totally wound down - just half the size and lots of empty space. Could be seasonal - but looked pretty grim. There were loads of dead and dying plants at half price - but none would have much chance of survival. Talking gardens, the compost bin is now stuffed to the gills and I'll have to get another one - it needs to be left for a year to rot down.

The higher tax band is brought down to a new level today. It won't effect me ( shuffles shoes and looks sad ) but it will hit almost everyone I know. Most of them are not even middle class... I predict a riot.
