Non stop day and still stacks to do - I even managed to pay some bills - it's amazing how long some people will wait....I seem to have spent all day answering emails and trying to think my way through stuff in the background.
I have no bills left to pay - except the TV licence which is due at the end of the month, and a little bit of cash left in the bank, however - I do still owe the revenue about £5k and £99k on my mortgage - but in terms of personal debt... I'm far better off than most people of my age / demographic, remind me of that when I'm in cardboard city. When I was in the supermarket I seriously considered a loaf of white bread, but went for half price carrots, potatoes and bananas instead. The 'good' coffee is also back on sale prices, so I stocked up - and I've been informed that the COOP in Winchelsea is clearing out the xmas booze - mostly 'good' wine at less than half price.
It got to nearly 5pm with some real daylight left today, and all the fruit trees are in bud - there are quite a few bulbs coming up in the front garden and I potted 120 Iris's, 60 narcissus and about 100 alium into tubs at the weekend - there are a few palms and cordalines that need to be taken out of tubs and put into the garden in a few weeks, that will shore up the border - I'm planning on doing a deal over some railway sleepers and terracing the back garden once and for all - it's all planned, I just need the materials. I could really do with another compost bin - mine is stacked to the gills and could do with rotting down for a year - there is 3 years worth of house and garden waste in there. The Rhubarb is really kicking off already - it's almost frightening.
Bangers and mash tonight - a special treat for 'blue' Monday.
