Bracing myself - have loads to do today.
The papers are really dull - although according to the Sunday Express, 5.5 million middle class people can't afford to heat their homes this winter. Perhaps they should have smaller houses... or just the one.
The Topshop protesters who closed the Brighton branch by superglueing themselves to the windows should have been applauded, yes.... but I'm amazed the staff were so dim as not to take advantage of the situation and used them as living mannequins... they could hardly run away.. could they?
There is a short, but cheering piece in the Observer about the revival in the fortunes of the Harris Tweed industry, BBC4 did an excelled series about this wonderful and important product a coule of years ago, I found this very encouraging.
The News of the World has very little on show because it's now behind a paywall, but the headline page includes the section 'MILF alert' - it appears to be a regular section - women over 40 who look hot etc... MILF means 'Mother I'd Like To Fuck" ( I had to look that up)... which is nice.... for a family paper. I wonder if anyone ever refers to Wendy, the fragrant 2nd Mrs Murdoch as a MILF?
The Tory minister for the homeless is apparently sleeping in his office to protest at the loss of his expenses for a regular hotel room. He is actually a millionaire in his own right and gets well paid for his job... but still put in a claim for the camp bed and pillow he is using. Perhaps he should try the street outside rather than his nice warm office...
I may pop out to the COOP later to see if they have any actual food, which I doubt. They managed to get all their xmas stock delivered...but nothing green, no proper sustenance - nothing unsweetened or packaged in xmas wrapping. They had no milk - but a large selection of novelty cheeses ( cheddar and cranberry etc ) - and no green vegetables, but they were selling off potatoes cheap - as they were just hitting the sell by date.
