...the depth of snow on the kitchen roof
Well, I wasn't expecting that... proper blizzard overnight and 16 inches of snow this morning. Packed up against the doors, had to dig myself out of the front door. The dogs love it - I daresay I'll be bored by lunchtime.
The COOP was hysterical, huge queue at 8am, shelves stripped, people panicking and buying anything edible ( that's not saying much ) - I did manage to bag a packet of frozen potato wedges and I'm having a Chorizo saucey thing later.
The college is closed and probably will be tomorrow too - I'm due in but I hope they open for staff - I have a lot I want to do and I'd like to be left alone to do it.
The dogs love the snow, they get really excited and difficult to manage - I took them out early and let them run around a field of virgin snow - it was about 2 foot deep, much more so in places - they had a wonderful time. I'll take them out later and carry a camera.
The ice has forced the drainpipe off the roof, and replaced it with a giant icicle - but one good thing about 2 feet of snow is that it's an excellent insulator - we are expecting -5 tonight and I'm not looking forward to it.
