Oh - the joy!!!!!

I had my dental surgery yesterday morning.  I can now close my mouth in perfect alignment - my teeth 'fit' properly - no more scraping or grinding - the loose wisdom tooth does not catch the other teeth - does not scrape my cheek or pinch when I eat - inside my mouth my teeth are symetrical on both sides and my jaw does not throb in the early morning after a night of relentless grinding.

I can't express how much better it feels - I wish I'd had that wisdom tooth taken out years ago. There was very little pain - I had a wadding in my mouth for half of the day - which was a bit odd, but it's all fine now - the only moment of anxiety was when I was waiting to go into the surgery. A dental nurse turned up and I could here her talking to the Spanish Dentist ( she must have been temporary ) -

" Hi, listen, I'm just telling you now - I don't know where anyone is or what anything does, I can't turn any of the machines on or anything - so don't ask me"

I began to wonder what would happen if anything went wrong.

I had to go straight to work afterward and was  assisted by painkillers that worked really well - probably on account of me never usually taking them - so they were very effective. Grindrod came down from London to talk to the students about the publishing industry and help grade the book design work - and it was very successful, The students did much better than I anticipated and it was a really good session.

Afterwards we went for a drink with someone from the MEC and then to the Tapas Bar - where I left the small blue envelope containing my wisdom tooth - then to the Anchor before Grindrod caught his train - which was very rowdy and full of twats, and a couple of the type of girls who you wouldn't allow in your house. The Anchor has really gone downhill now - but the Dragon is far too small and was packed out. Hastings really needs another good bar.

I got home in time to see the judges being utter shits to Matt Baker and watched Dracula Prince Of Darkness on the laptop.

Off to a 'dry' wedding in Eastbourne today. One of my X students is getting married ( to a doctor ) and moving to London - he's a brilliant bloke, former sound engineer - his and his fiance's family are big on the Christian scene so it's a tea and coffee reception.

I'm really glad that the term is over - masses of admin to do this week coming to tie everything up, and I need some rest. Then I need to figure out how I'm going to survive financially for the next 12 months on my reduced income..... tricky.

The guy next to me on the train home threw up at Tonbridge. For ages.

Oh - Christ, that's horrible. I was on the train once at 5.30am commuting to London from Brighton and a bloke opened up a plastic box and started eating a whole cold chicken carcass - the smell was awful, everyone started gagging and people had to get off the train.

I feel like I've entered a parallel universe; maybe snaggle tooth was the problem all these years?
I suspect it won't last but for now it's all good.
I'm glad it went well.
