... well, that's probably a bit of an exageration.
I went to work but someone is using my studio for a few days to teach, and as I'm not actually timetabled - I can't complain. I did some work in the staff room but it wasn't ideal - so I got everything ready to bring home. On a whim - I cycled down to TK MAXX. I am OK for clothes but I've noticed a few things look a bit tired recently - as a freelancer you can get away with wearing pyjamas all day, but now that I have to go out every day and meet people, it's a bit of an issue. My students are generally clothed much better than me - in far more expensive clothes and with rather more flair - I generally can't be arsed.
I needed a couple of cheap, plain jumpers. I managed to get a couple of V neck Pringle sweaters and a navy blue cricket style number for far less than half price - and then.... something caught my eye..
I have to wear something decent on New Years Eve - I'm running the coat check at the Decadence Ball at the Masonic Hall ( tickets available at £8!) and I wanted something decent - I found a fitted, very flash and modern black velvet smoking jacket - single breasted and with a very narrow revere - Louis Feraud, reduced from £400 to £44. As soon as I put it on I looked like someone else - I used one of the store mirrors and I could see that several people suddenly noticed me - it's really well tailored and makes me look a very good shape. Flash enough to wear 'on occasion' - and just a bit interesting enough to wear day times. It's been years since I had a 'retail experience' - I cycled back at double speed to check it really was as good as I thought - and yes... I look fucking great!

Sounds like you were looking very dapper. I like the sound of the cut of your jib!
