I cleaned the house ( including the fridge ) and went down into town, I wanted to see a couple of the Open Houses - I ended up getting sidetracked by The Old Town Xmas Fair, they had closed the high street and filled it with stalls - none of which appealed to me. I wandered into town and found it quite depressing. It was full of hard faced, sallow, fat women with facial piercings and brain damaged men with out of control dogs.... a bit like most British population Centers. Overheard a woman say on the phone "Of course I love my kids, I've spent a fortune on them this year" - and on the flip side, at the little teeny kiddie choir in the market, I heard "Tallulah, pay attention - Ocean, stand up straight".
I made the mistake of trying on a pair of cut price jeans in Debenhams - the stench in there made me feel sick - and they have special mirrors to make you feel rally bad about yourself. Everything was grey and cold looking - no colour anywhere. The fake snow being sprayed into the air at the mini ice rink got in my eye and made it water - it probably looked like I was wandering around Priory Meadow crying.
One of my neighbours is trying to deck lights around his garden fir tree - it's huge and he thinks he can do it with some kitchen steps..... I predict a tragedy.... Casualty style...
