Advent Sunday

We would occasionally have advent calendars when I was a kid, they would last about 3 days and would end up stripped of their wares... generally they were Woolies bargain efforts - so looked flashy but yielded little. My memory of advent calendars is one of quiet resignation... "it's still ages to go yet.."

It's snowing outside. The dogs are excited and want to go out - I'm not keen. Only an inch or so with frozen mud and slush underneath - I'm bracing myself for a walk after this cuppa.

Yesterday I did no work whatsoever - and it was ACE!!! really enjoyed it and didn't feel even a little bit guilty.

I appear to have repaired the computer -which is a relief ( although I'm not counting my chickens ) and moved the office around to a better layout.

Talking of chickens - the food range in COOP is now even worse, I have not seen an actual chicken for several weeks - they sell a lot of pork chops - which I would never eat, cheap sausages, the range has been trimmed right down to poor quality, badly packaged bangers, cheap bacon, filled pasta 2-for-1 offers and turnips. Nothing green or healthy in days. Lots of flavoured sweet stuff like yoghurts and booze, fags and white bread.

If I had storage space I'd buy online - but I resent that and have an ethical imperative to buy locally....buy it's only a matter of time before I end up fat, slobbish, pale faced and dribbling due to deficiencies and hardened arteries.. like the rest of Ore.

The newspapers appear to have exactly the same stories as yesterday... everyone is talking about the snow on the radio in huge and really quite boring detail. I now have to go out in it...
