I wasn't disturbed by fancy dress children last night - just as well, I briefly considered dressing up as Ian Huntley and inviting them inside to see the expressions on the parents faces... only Joking.

When I was in the removals van after I sold my house in Hove I was stuck in the cab with one of those 'mr normal everyman' types who spent the entire 4 hours ranting about kiddie fiddlers - this being the last day of Ian Huntley's trial - as we entered scouse Airspace his guilty verdict came in over the radio and he punched the air - which annoyed me because he was driving me and everything I own in the van and it shook and swerved as he took his hands of the wheel. I have absolutly no idea what to say in situations like that - I don't know anything about kiddie fiddlers and generally avoid anything like that on the news - it's not something I actually want in my head and makes no sense to me - but this bloke was obsessed with revenge - he saw pedophiles everywhere and ranted obsessively all the way north. He's he kind of person who would get drunk and burn down someones house because the postman tipped him the wink that he'd delivered a Ladybird catalog. Mind you - very good value removals. He was aghast at how big the house in Liverpool was - and to be fair - it was huge. £140k for 5 bedrooms, two huge receptions, three floors of space and a top floor studio so big it's larger than the entire footprint of my present house. It's been converted into 3 flats now.

The news is really dull, I'm not impressed by the printer cartridge bombs and everything else is about X factor. I've just been listening to some really scary right wing Americans on the radio.... It might as well be the end of days.

Julian Fellows has just been on the radio saying how sad and depressed he is at criticism of Downton ( honestly - it's shite ) Abbey, and accusations of plagarism..... that always happens when you borrow chunks of plot from other productions... 'innit. The only bit I caught last week was stolen from Mrs Minniver - it made my fucking blood boil - I still think they should play the whole thing for laughs.

It will be dark by 5pm tonight... that depresses me already.
