Nothing more depressing than cycling to work and seeing a thick pall of black smoke hanging over Hastings. They had to open the roof vents at work - the atrium was full of smoke and the smell was really strong - the whole town was hazy all morning.
I sent my students off to Brighton for the day and did some catching up - had loads of work to do - was supposed to go back later for a private view at the Circle gallery but couldn't face leaving the house again. Loads to do tonight and working all week.... could do with a break already.
Didn't meet a single person all day who had a problem with higher rate tax earners losing child benefit.

Me, I've got a problem with losing my child benefit as a stay at home mother we're just on the border and it is my money for food shopping.
Plus, got a problem with the principal of losing universal benefits - always hits women and children first.
Bev - neither of you are higher rate ta earners - that's the point - why should someone earning over 40K get child allowance for more than 2 kids
I don't get a penny in any kind of benefit, if I cannot afford it, I go without !
Jane - I think you should just turn rogue and start taking what you want, I'd have helped myself to all those laptops today and blamed the person who locked them up and lost the key, shove 'em on ebay and bought some new shoes.
yes, I missed a good chance there.............and most probably would have bought shoes !
