Tuesday

I went to work yesterday wearing a shirt that still had the plastic strip in the colar. Never mind... kept it's shape.

When I got home I changed into dog walking clothes, you will remember I described my outfit for yesterday on here. I was in the CO-OP later buying milk and saw someone I knew "You've changed then" she said... I had to think for a minute. She was looking for paprika in the Ore CO-OP. I suspect she went home empty handed - I hope she didn't ask the staff - they probably thought it was an alco-pop.

Last night I was emailed by a therapist who had found my profile on an online dating site I'd forgotten about. He wanted to offer his services - reading between the lines he assumed I needed help - and apparently 'You need to love yourself before you can hope to love anyone else" That made me feel worse about myself than I thought it was possible - frankly I thought I came across as quite chipper...

Last night, it started again - the tell tale scratching and gnawing - this time under the floorboards directly below my office chair - and later in the night in the office as I was trying to sleep. My eyes are, as you can imagine - red raw and sore from lack of sleep. I'm going to get poison at the weekend and resolve this once and for all.

Perhaps I should add that to my profile.

"Nice, mild mannered, good sense of humour, insolvent, overworked, depressed, low self esteem with two dogs - one of whom will attack and kill any suitors - a dump of a house and rats... WLTM etc"

I'm going into the office today - I don't actually get paid until I am performing contact teaching hours - essentially, my fraction is part of a designated full time job - it's considered possible for me to do the job by working a designated number of hours - and then using my budget to employ other lecturers to complete the course program - totaling another designated number of hours that it's deemed appropriate for what I am delivering. My fraction is based on contact teaching, with little - if an, provision for planning, writing the course, anything I have to do outside etc - but now we have a decent office I'm determined to do all my work there rather than here - regardless of if I'm due to be in. It makes more sense and come the winter it will be heated - that's the key thing.

Just waiting to see if I get a letter from the revenue ..... with my luck etc.

I'm really tired.

nooooo poison!
That was the start of my problems when I had mice last winter. They start dying in unreachable places and the smell is unbelievable. I had to tear down a wall in a closet to get to a tiny carcass that had been stinking for weeks.

I agree. If you have a dead rat under the boards, you'll soon get flies - it happened in a shop I managed and the number of dead flies ran into the hundreds. It was disgusting.

Can you try a trap? Or buy a blind cat and let it live under the floorboards.

As for the therapist, I thought they had some code of ethics (I assume that they weren't offering their services for nothing).

"He wanted to offer his services -"

I sure as hell wouldn't take it personally that some loser of a therapist--if he even IS a therapist--has to peruse the personals trying to stir up business.
